BPSSC SI Eligibility Criteria 2024
Education: You need a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, or Arts from a recognized Indian university.
Age: Men should be 20-37 years old and women 20-40 years old as of August 1, 2024. There’s an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Physical Requirements:
- Men should be 165 cm tall, have a chest size of 81-86 cm, run 1.6 km in 6 min 30 sec, jump 4 feet high, long jump 12 feet, and throw a 16-pound ball 16 feet.
- Women should be 160 cm tall, run 1 km in 6 minutes, jump 3 feet high, long jump 9 feet, and throw a 12-pound ball 10 feet.
BPSSC SI Exam Date & Pattern 2024
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission hasn’t confirmed the exam date for the Sub Inspector post yet. It’s expected that the Prelims and Mains exams might be held in early and late 2024.
Prelims:
- It’s a 2-hour offline exam with 100 objective questions.
- Each correct answer gets 2 marks, and each wrong answer loses 0.2 marks.
- You need to score at least 60 marks (30%).
- The exam covers General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
- It’s available in English and Hindi.
Mains:
- It consists of two 2-hour offline exams, each with 100 objective questions.
- Each correct answer gets 2 marks, and each wrong answer loses 0.2 marks.
- The first paper is General Hindi, which is qualifying in nature. You need to score at least 30%.
- The second paper is General Studies.
- It’s available in English and Hindi.

BPSSC SI Application Fee 2024
- General, OBC, EWS candidates, and applicants from other states need to pay ₹700.
- SC and ST candidates have a reduced fee of ₹400.
