TNTET Notification 2024

TNTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) for Paper I and II is as follows:
Educational Qualification:
- Paper I: You need to have passed 12th grade and have a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education from the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination.
- Paper II: You need a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, or Arts and a 2-year Bachelor’s of Education or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. If you are in the final year semester of your Bachelor’s of Education or Diploma in Elementary Education, you can still apply.
Age Limit:
- For both Paper I & II, you need to be between 18 and 40 years old. Age relaxation applies to reserved category candidates as per TN government rules.
TNTET 2024 Exam Date
The Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board hasn’t announced the date for the Teacher Eligibility Test for Paper I and II yet. It’s expected to be an offline test, likely in July 2024. The test will last 2.5 hours and will be conducted statewide.
TNTET 2024 Exam Fee
When you apply online for the Teacher Eligibility Test, you need to pay an exam fee at the end. The fee is ₹500 for OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC categories and ₹250 for SC/ST/SC(A)/PWD categories. You can pay using a debit or credit card, NET banking, or UPI.
TNTET 2024 Exam Pattern
The Teacher Eligibility Test 2024 by the Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board has two papers:
Paper I:
- It’s an offline test with 150 multiple-choice questions.
- The test lasts 150 minutes.
- The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu), Language II – English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
- Each question is worth 1 mark.
Paper II:
- It’s also an offline test with 150 multiple-choice questions.
- The test lasts 150 minutes.
- The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1 (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu), Language II – English, and a subject-specific section (Mathematics and Science for Maths/Science teachers, Social Science for Social Science teachers, or any other subject for other teachers).
- Each question is worth 1 or 2 marks depending on the section.
